CINCINATTI, Ohio -- The No. 9-ranked (NAIA DII) WVU Tech men's basketball team scored its fifth consecutive victory with a 93-80 River States Conference (RSC) decision at Cincinnati Christian University. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 19-3, 10-1 (RSC) while the Eagles move to 9-13, 4-7 (RSC).
Tech is currently on top in the RSC East Division with No. 15 Indiana University East (10-1 RSC). University of Rio Grande and Point Park University are up next in the East, both with records of 3-8 and 7.0 games back.
The team was led by senior
Elisha Boone's 14
th double-double of the season of 25 points and 13 rebounds. Boone also had two steals and two assists.
Fellow senior
Brandon Shingles recorded 19 points including four made from beyond the arc. He also gave four assists and grabbed two steals.
Senior
Tommy Collins posted 16 points on 5-for-7 shooting from the field. The Jacksonville, Florida native also pulled down seven boards, had two steals, two blocks and an assist.
Sophomore
Tamon Scruggs also hit double-digits, pouring in 12 points to go with four steals, three assists and three rebounds.
Sophomore
Junior Arrey dished a game-best five assists while recording four points, two rebounds and a steal.
Tech will continue conference play on the road Saturday when they travel to IU Kokomo.
