KOKOMO, Indiana -- No. 9 WVU Tech men's basketball suffered just its second River States Conference (RSC) loss of the season at Indiana University Kokomo, 89-82, Saturday afternoon. The Golden Bears hold a record of 19-4, 10-2 (RSC) while the Cougars move to 18-4, 8-3 (RSC).
IU Kokomo is now just 0.5 games back from the top spot in the RSC West Division. After Saturday's conference action, Tech is No. 2 in the RSC East, 1.0 games back from No. 15 Indiana University East (11-1 RSC).
Senior
Elisha Boone led the game with 27 points on 11-for-19 shooting and finished with a double-double including 14 rebounds. He also marked three assists and two steals.
Fellow classmate
Brandon Shingles marked 19 points while sophomore
Junior Arrey had 14 points.
Senior
Tommy Collins posted ten points and five rebounds.
IU Kokomo was led by Trequan Spivey who poured in 26 points while Akil McClain posted 24 points.
The Cougars held a big advantage in rebounds, 43-29 while shooting 48.3 percent (29-for-60) from the field compared to Tech's 45.8 percent (27-for-59).
The Gold and Blue will continue conference play Tuesday when they host Ohio Christian University at the
Summersville Convention & Visitors Bureau.
