PORTSMOUTH, Ohio -- (RV) WVU Tech men's basketball fell 80-61 to host school Shawnee State University during the Sean Elliot Memorial Classic Saturday afternoon. The Golden Bears are now 1-1 while the Bears stay undefeated at 5-0.
Junior
Tamon Scruggs led the Gold and Blue with 16 points including a 4-for-7 effort from beyond the arc. Scruggs also posted two rebounds, an assist and a steal.
Freshman
Darrin Martin also hit double-digits for Tech, finishing with 11 points.
Junior
Junior Arrey was a perfect 6-for-6 from the foul line and poured in nine points.
Senior
Dominik King finished with seven points and two assists.
As a team, Tech shot 34.4 percent (21-for-61) from the field while Shawnee State finished at 49.1 percent (28-for-57).
The Golden Bears did hold the advantage in bench points (30-18) and points off turnovers (16-15).
WVU Tech will return to the court Tuesday, November 5 when they travel to Carlow University for a River States Conference (RSC) match-up.
