RICHMOND, Indiana -- No. 11 WVU Tech men's soccer defeated Indiana University East 2-1 in double overtime and are the 2019 River States Conference (RSC) regular season champions. The Golden Bears hold an undefeated record of 16-0-1, 9-0 (RSC) while the Red Wolves move to 12-6, 6-3 (RSC).
Finishing a perfect 9-0 in conference play, WVU Tech claimed the RSC regular season title and receive a bye in the quarterfinal round of the RSC Tournament. The Gold and Blue are scheduled to host a semifinal match-up on November 13.
In Tech's final regular season game, freshman
Oleg Tarshin recorded the golden goal in double overtime off an assist from senior
Sergio Sanchez.
The Gold and Blue's first score of the contest was credited to senior
Manuel Garcia who was assisted by freshman
Michael Barton in the 21
st minute.

Jorge Martinez (16-0-1) protected the net for Tech again, making two saves in 105 minutes of play.
IU East's keeper, Aaron Gipson, stopped three Golden Bear attempts in the complete game.
