BECKLEY, West Virginia -- (RV) WVU Tech men's basketball poured in 101 points for the second consecutive game as they defeated Campbellsville University Somerset 101-70 Saturday evening. The Golden Bears boost their record to 4-4 while the Tigers move to 2-5.
Junior
Junior Arrey had a well-rounded game, posting a double-double of 11 rebounds and ten points to go with seven assists and a steal.
Fellow junior
Tamon Scruggs poured in a game-high 20 points while grabbing five rebounds and a steal.
Seniors
Dominik King and
Kevin Thomas-Griffin recorded 14 points each while King finished with six rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal and Griffin posted four blocks, three boards and a steal.
Freshman
Darrin Martin also hit double-digits for the Gold and Blue, recording 11 points to go with five rebounds, three assists and two blocks.
The Tigers shot 29-for-66 (43.9 percent) from the field while WVU Tech finished 37-for-72 (51.4 percent).
Tech won the battle under the boards, pulling down 45 rebounds compared to the Tigers' 33.
Golden Bears also held the advantage in points off turnovers (30-9), second chance points (26-6), bench points (48-29) and points in the paint (54-38).
Tech will hit the road again, competing in the NAIA DII Showcase in Kingsport, Tennessee November 30 - December 1.
