MONTREAT, North Carolina -- WVU Tech baseball finished 1-2 after a three-game series at Montreat College Friday and Saturday. The Golden Bears (4-7) took game one 7-6 after ten innings before dropping games two and three to Montreat (5-2) 7-11 and 0-9 respectively.

Tech marked 11 hits as a team including a multi-hit game from
Sean Crosby (3),
Andrew Sharp (2),
Dariel Torres (2) and
Calen Owens (2).
Of the five Golden Bear RBI, Crosby accounted for three of them while Torres and Owens had one each. Crosby launched a home run in the win while Torres knocked a double.
On the bases,
Kent Rooklin and
Charlie White recorded a steal each.
After 1.1 innings of work on the mound,
Juan Perez was awarded the win. Perez had two strike outs in the victory.
Calyb King (4) and
Logan McClure also retired batters via strikes.

Of the 12 Golden Bear hits, Crosby had two while Sharp recorded three to lead Tech.
Sharp also posted four RBI and scored a run off of a double and a home run.
The remaining RBI were credited to
Alex Tennant, Torres and Owens.
Brandon Chandler threw for 2.0 innings towards the loss after striking out two Cavaliers.
Trey Dalton (2),
Cody Hammond and
Matt Silverstein also posted strike outs from the mound.

Kurt Latocha marked a hit each.
Michael Rotenberry pitched for 4.0 innings and the loss, striking out four batters.
Logan Stump and
Will Mullins struck out one Cavalier each.
The team will return to the field February 20 when they travel to University of Pikeville for a doubleheader.
