BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech baseball defeated Kentucky Christian Thursday evening, 19-7, in Beckley. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 7-7 while the Knights move to 0-5.
At the plate, junior
Cody Hammond led the way finishing a perfect 5-for-5 towards six RBI, a double and a triple. Hammond also scored a run.
Fellow junior
Dariel Torres recorded four hits, four RBI, four runs scored, two doubles and a triple.
Sophomore
Andrew Sharp marked three hits, two RBI, two runs scored and a triple.
Junior
Douglas Pollock also hit double-digits at the plate, posting two hits, three runs scored and a double.
Sophomore
Brett Linton was awarded the win on the mound after 1.0 innings of work. Sophomore
Matt Silverstein threw for 2.2 innings and struck out three batters. Also striking out three was senior
Juan Perez who pitched for 1.0 inning.
