- Cranked its win streak up to 11 after defeating Indiana University East 81-52 in River States Conference (RSC) action Saturday.
- The Golden Bears boost their record to 18-8, 13-1 (RSC) while the Red Wolves move to 11-15, 9-5 (RSC).
- Junior Laura Requena posted her seventh consecutive double-double with a career-high 21 rebounds to go with a game-high 19 points.
- Three Golden Bears poured in 12 points each including senior Alexandra Combs and sophomores Whittney Justice and Brittney Justice.
- Combs and B. Justice also pulled down six boards each.
- Senior Savannah Shamblin matched her career-high, dishing 12 assists to go with six points, three rebounds and three steals.
- The team finished 43.5 percent (30-for-69) from the field while holding IU East to just 29.7 percent (22-for-74) shooting.
- IU East held the slight advantage in rebounds, 47-44.

LAST GAME
- No. 9 WVU Tech men's basketball traveled to No. 15 Indiana University East Saturday and came away with a 94-79 River States Conference (RSC) victory.
- The Golden Bears boost their record to 21-4, 12-2 (RSC) while the Red Wolves move to 20-7, 12-2 (RSC).
- Senior Elisha Bonne found his stride, matching a career-high 21 rebounds while pouring in 32 points towards his 16th double-double this season.
- Sophomore Tamon Scruggs came off the bench to post 14 points and four rebounds.
- Senior Brandon Shingles and sophomore Junior Arrey had 11 points each while senior Tommy Collins recorded nine points.
- Arrey also pulled down eight boards while sophomore Josh Whelan had six rebounds and eight points.
- Tech finished 35-for-75 (46.7 percent) from the field and had 49 rebounds. IU East shot 31-for-69 (44.9 percent) and marked 36 boards.

WEST VIRGINIA INVITATIONAL
- Competed at the West Virginia Collegiate Invitational hosted by Wheeling Jesuit University.
- The Golden Bears finished fourth out of five teams with a team score of 45.0 points.
- West Liberty University won the invite with a team score of 110.5.
- Tech had nine Golden Bears place in their respective weight classes including two third place finishes from senior Tristan Bean (133 lbs.) and sophomore Logan Robertson (144 lbs.).
- The fourth place finishers for the Gold and Blue were freshmen Austin Dilly (133 lbs.) and Cameron Crislip (165 lbs.) and sophomore Nathan McClaugherty (141 lbs.).
- Finishing fifth after the all-day invite were sophomores Neko Aquilina and Clay Fritz (157 lbs.).
- Senior Jonathan Cruse (149 lbs.) and Christian Lively (285 lbs.) finished sixth overall in their weight classes.

LAST MEET
- The No. 5 (NAIA) men's squad defeated Fairmont State University, 141-82. They haven't lost a dual this season and are now 6-0.
- Junior Paulo Ignacio, Jr. picked up two first place wins including the 100 Breast (1:05.34) and 200 Breast (2:31.09).
- Sophomore Marcos de Paula Damaso was on top in the 1500 Free (17:09.38) and 200 Fly (2:26.15).
- Junior Manuel Laguna Gomez touched first in the 200 Free (2:05.36) and 100 Free (57.77).
- Gomez was also part of the first place 400 Free Relay team of fellow junior Felipe Ruiz, senior Vinicius Rios and sophomore Carolus Josefina.
- Ruiz earned first in the 400 Free (4:35.44) and was second in the 1500 Free (18:47.49).
- The team also saw top finishes from freshman Pau Eslava in the 100 Back (1:03.69) and Josefina who had two first-place touches including the 50 Free (25.58) and 200 Back (2:24.49).
- Seniors George Sheldon (100 Fly, 1:03.44) and Takoda Grove (200 Back, 2:25.49) were second in their respective events.
- The women competed against Fairmont State and Columbia College, dropping both while picking up five first-place finishes.
- Seniors Isabela Kiesewetter Zandavalli and Mariana Loureiro each touched first in two events.
- Zandavalli was on top in the 100 Back (1:11.80) and 400 Free (5:06.72) while Mariana finished first in the 1500 Free (19:06.05) and 200 Breast (2:53.29).
- The 400 Free Relay team of Zandavalli, Mariana, senior Mariara Loureiro and junior Ana Carolina Loureiro took home the women's last top finish of the night with a time of 4:25.99.

LAST TIME OUT
- The WVU Tech men's track and field team finished tied for fourth (with Ohio Christian University) and the women's squad was seventh Friday at the Marietta Alumni Open in Ohio.
- Tech's highlights included a first place finish from Dameion Russ (Long Jump), a second place finish from Katie Ervin (500m) and another second place showing, this time from Kaeley Boyd (1,000m).
- The men's top finishes included:

LAST SERIES
- The Golden Bears took three out of four from Brewton-Parker.
- They swept the opening doubleheader 9-5 and 10-5, then split the next day with a 9-3 win in the first game and 13-7 loss in the nightcap.
- Second baseman/designated hitter Patrick Burke played in two games and had five hits in eight at-bats (.625). Right-fielder Robert Funk hit .538 (7-for-13), Dariel Torres (.462) had four extra-base hits, including a home run.
- Shortstop Kent Rooklin (.375) hit a grand slam — his first collegiate home run — in the third game, and third baseman Andrew Sharp drove in eight runs on the weekend.
- The Golden Bears came away hitting .375 as a team and averaged 8.8 runs per game
- Game one starter Brett Litton walked five over four innings, but held the Barons to two earned runs and picked up the win.
- Calyb King didn't have the best numbers — four earned runs and six hits over 3 1/3 innings — but also earned a win in the second game.
- The strongest outing came from Beckley native Brandon Chandler.
- The 2016 Woodrow Wilson graduate held the Barons to three runs and scattered seven hits over six innings while striking out four and walking none to gain the win in the third game.
- Trey Dalton was in line to win the finale, but he and the bullpen could not hold a 6-1 lead
