WILMORE, Kentucky -- WVU Tech dropped a three-game River States Conference (RSC) series at Asbury University, 1-2, earning a game two victory, 9-4, and dropping the other contests 4-15 and 2-11. The Golden Bears move to 13-22, 4-11 (RSC) while the Eagles hold a record of 12-14, 5-8 (RSC).
Patrick Burke recorded six hits to lead the series for Tech, producing four RBI.
Douglas Pollock and
Dariel Torres tallied four hits each while Torres had three RBI and three runs scored and Pollock posted a RBI and a run scored.
Jake Allen and
Andrew Sharp knocked three hits each after three games. Allen marked two RBI and two runs scored while Sharp had two runs scored and a RBI.
Torres,
Cody Hammond and
Sean Crosby blasted a home run each.
Calyb King was awarded the win on the mound after 5.2 innings in game two, striking out eight batters.
Michael Rotenberry was dealt the loss in game one, throwing for 3.0 innings. He recorded four strike outs.
The loss in game three was given to
Reed McNeer who threw for 1.1 innings and posted one strike out.
Casey Elbin retired three batters via strikes after 1.1 innings and
Juan Perez recorded two strike outs after 4.1 innings.
The team will return to play in non-conference action Tuesday, April 2 at Bluefield State College.
