Box Score 2 BRUNSWICK, Georgia -- WVU Tech volleyball now holds a record of 2-1 after splitting Saturday to finish out the Mariner Invitational in Brunswick. The Golden Bears defeated Warner University 3-0 with scores of 25-17, 25-15, 25-23 before falling to host school College of Coastal Georgia 3-1 with marks of 22-25, 25-19, 21-25, 22-25. Tech took a 3-0 match against St. Andrews University to kick of the season Friday.
Freshman
Brooklyn Cook had a standout day with a total of 18 kills to go with 21 digs for the double-double.
Senior
Katelyn Byrd led the offense with 21 kills while also picking up 14 digs.
Fellow senior
Carolina Bologna put away 18 kills while senior
Konstantina Pateli finished with 13 kills.
Pateli also handled the ball, marking 62 assists and 27 digs.
Junior
Michaella Guyot-Polverini led the team at the service line with five aces while picking up 14 digs.
Up next the Gold and Blue will host their first home match of the season when Bluefield College comes to Van Meter Gym Monday for a 6 p.m. contest.
