BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech volleyball now holds a record of 3-1 after defeating Bluefield College Tuesday evening in Van Meter Gym. The Rams fall to 0-5 after dropping a 3-1 match with scores of 25-21, 25-18, 20-25 and 25-20.
The Gold and Blue saw a double-double effort from senior
Katelyn Byrd who finished with a match-high 14 kills to go with 14 digs. Byrd also produced two block solos, a block assist, a service ace and an assist.
Fellow senior
Carolina Bologna and junior
Ana Alonso Olea recorded ten kills each. Bologna also had three digs, two assists, a block solo and a block assist.
In the back row, junior libero
Sawyer Hawgood picked up a match-high 18 digs to go with six assists for the Golden Bears.
Senior
Konstantina Pateli dished a a match-best 39 assists while adding six kills and six digs.
WVU Tech next plays in the Emileigh Cooper Memorial Classic hosted by University of Rio Grande Friday and Saturday where they face Shawnee State, Bluefield, Rio Grande and Point Park University.
