BECKLEY, West Virginia -- In WVU Tech men's soccer's second showing in 2019, the Golden Bears defeated Montreat College 2-1 in extra time Thursday evening. The Golden Bears stay undefeated at 2-0 while the Cavaliers move to 1-2.

Jesus Naves posted both goals for the Gold and Blue starting with the equalizer in the 75
th minute. The first score was assisted by fellow senior
Rolando Sanchez.
The golden goal was posted in the 97
th minute when Naves connected with senior
Manuel Garcia who sent in the assist.

Alvaro Tina finished with three shots on frame each while Garcia and freshman
Michael Barton posted two shots on goal each.
Tech's keeper, senior
Jorge Martinez (2-0), protected the net for a complete game, stopping three Cavalier attempts.
Montreat's goalkeeper, Jesus Ramos (1-2), posted eight saves in the loss.
Due to weather, the contest at St. Andrews University Saturday has been postponed. WVU Tech will return to action Wednesday, September 11 when they travel to Shawnee State University.
