BECKLEY, West Virginia -- The game was a battle until the end as WVU Tech fell to Bluefield State College 95-94 Saturday afternoon in the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center. The Golden Bears move to 11-7 overall while the Big Blues move to 8-8 this season.
Junior Arrey, a junior guard, posted his sixth double-double of the season leading the Golden Bears with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Arrey also recorded seven assists and two steals.
Three more Golden Bears produced double-digits including senior
Dominik King (19), freshman
Andrew Work (18) and junior
Andreas Jönsson (15).
King finished with five three-pointers, four rebounds, two steals, a block and an assist.
Work was 8-for-10 from the bonus line and marked an assist and a block.
Jonsson finished with three rebounds, three assists and a block.
Freshman
Darrin Martin put out four assists to go with six points and a steal.
As a team, the Gold and Blue finished 30-for-60 (50.0 percent) from the field while the Blues went 40-for-72 (55.6 percent). Bluefield State also won under the boards, 43-29.
Tech will return to conference action when they travel to Alice Lloyd College Tuesday.
