BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech volleyball earned a 3-1 River States Conference (RSC) victory over Midway University Saturday with scores of 22-25, 25-14, 25-21 and 25-21. The Golden Bears are now even in 2020 with a record of 4-4, 4-4 (RSC) while the Eagles move to 12-4, 8-3 (RSC).
Senior
Lucie Strasser dished out a match-high 34 assists to go with 11 digs, two block solos and a kill.
Fellow classmate
Katelyn Byrd led the attack with 13 kills while picking up 19 digs. Byrd also recorded two block solos and a block assist.
Senior libero
Sawyer Hawgood had 19 digs while dishing five assists for the Blue and Gold.
Senior
Michaela Hall finished with ten kills while junior
Coralys Maldonado Rivera had eight. Hall led the defense at the net with four block solos.
Freshman
Julia McClanahan posted seven assists, a kill and a dig while fellow freshman
Ana Muñiz Rocandio marked 15 digs and five kills.
Junior
Ariana Gentzler put down four block assists and two block solos to go with five kills.
The team returns to action October 30 when they travel to Point Park University for more conference play.
