BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech volleyball is enjoying a three-match winning streak after defeating River States Conference (RSC) opponent Ohio Christian University 3-0 on Senior Night with scores of 25-12, 25-17 and 25-14. The Golden Bears boost their record to 6-4, 6-4 (RSC) while the Trailblazers move to 4-9, 3-9 (RSC).
The attack was even with six Golden Bears putting down six kills each including seniors
Katelyn Byrd and
Ana Alonso Olea and junior
Coralys Maldonado Rivera and sophomore
Brooklyn Cook. Cook also picked up a match-best 11 digs while Byrd had eight.
Junior
Ariana Gentzler finished with five kills and a block solo. Rivera had two block solos and two block assists after three sets.
Senior
Lucie Strasser posted 17 assists, eight digs, two kills and one of each--block solo, block assist and service ace.
Freshman Ana Muniz Rocandio had seven digs, four assists, four service aces and a kill for the Gold and Blue.
The Golden Bears will host Brescia University in another conference match-up tomorrow, Saturday in Beckley.
