BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech men's basketball started off 2021 with a 90-59 victory over Carlow University in Beckley Friday evening. The Golden Bears boost their record to 5-4 while the Celtics move to 0-5.
The team held Carlow to just 35.4 percent (23-for-65) shooting from the field while forcing 18 turnovers. Tech finished at 54.1 percent shooting (33-for-61) and grabbed seven steals.
Five Golden Bears hit double-digits including Senior
Tamon Scruggs who led all with 19 points and eight boards to go with three assists and a steal.
Fellow classmate
Andreas Jönsson poured in 17 points including three made from three-point range.Â
Sophomore
Darrin Martin dished a game-best eight assists while producing 14 points and five boards.
Ashton Parker, a sophomore, marked 11 points while fellow sophomore
Andrew Work had ten points. Parker also blocked three Celtic attempts and had five rebounds while Work finished with four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Senior

Tech will return to action tomorrow, Saturday when they travel to Ohio Christian University. Â
