#WVUTech takes two in RSC play

Volleyball

BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech volleyball earned a 3-0 River States Conference (RSC) victory over Oakland City Friday followed by a 3-1 RSC win over Brescia University Saturday. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 10-14 overall and 6-4 in conference play.

Over two matches, Coralys Maldonado Rivera led the attack with a total of 23 kills to go with three block solos and two block assists.

Ana Muniz Rocandio combined for 22 kills and 21 digs for the Gold and Blue.

Ariana Gentzler also hit double-digits in kills with 19 while tallying 11 block solos.

The back row defense was led by libero Valentina Abondano who picked up 33 digs while Abigail Gregory recorded 15 digs.

Julia McClanahan handled the ball, dishing out 74 assists to go with seven digs and four service aces.

The team will return to the court Tuesday when they host RSC opponent University of Rio Grande in Van Meter Gym.
