BECKLEY, West Virginia -- (RV) WVU Tech men's basketball pushed its winning streak to nine after battling to a 79-61 victory over University of the Cumberlands Saturday at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center. The Golden Bears move to 12-2 this season while the Patriots hold an overall record of 8-4.
Tamon Scruggs led Tech's scorers with 19 points to go with six rebounds and four assists.
Andrew Work finished with 15 points, six rebounds and two blocks.
Juvante' Hayes had 12 points, five assists and four steals for the Gold and Blue.
Thomas Hailey came off the bench to post nine points, four steals and three rebounds.
The Golden Bears will continue non-conference action when they travel to Bluefield College Monday, December 13.
