BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech men's basketball secured a spot in a semifinal of the River States Conference (RSC) Championship after defeating Indiana University Kokomo 79-66 Wednesday. The Golden Bears will next face Alice Lloyd College in Pippas Passes, Kentucky.
Senior
Tamon Scruggs led the team with 21 points, including four from beyond the arc, to go with seven rebounds and seven assists.
Fellow classmate
Juvante' Hayes produced 16 points, four assists, two steals and two boards.
Sophomore
Darrin Martin came off the bench to record 14 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Andrew Work, also a sophomore, finished with nine points and nine rebounds while freshman
Thomas Hailey had eight points, seven boards and two blocks.
The Gold and Blue will head to Alice Lloyd with a record of 10-6 while the Eagles are 17-5. Saturday will mark the first time the two teams have met this season.
