BERMUDA RUN, North Carolina -- WVU Tech women's soccer picked up its first win of the 2021 season with a 2-0 shutout at Carolina University in Bermuda Run. The Golden Bears are now 1-1 this season while the Bruins move to 0-2.
Brittany Dye struck first for the Golden Bears, posting her second goal of the season in minute seven. Freshman
Angelica Taylor sent Dye the perfect pass to record her first collegiate assist.
Tech's final score of the evening came from
Ana Gay Mesa who posted her first collegiate goal in the 57th minute.
Jenna Miller protected the Gold and Blue's net, marking three saves and allowing zero goals in 90 minutes of play.
The team finished with eight shots on goal compared to Carolina's three shots on frame.
WVU Tech will return to the pitch Saturday, August 28 when they travel to Regent University for a 4 p.m. contest.
