KINGSPORT, Tennessee -- (RV) WVU Tech men's basketball suffered a 91-78 non-conference loss to Ave Maria University in its final competition of The Show. The Golden Bears hold a record of 4-5 while the Gyrenes move to 6-3.
Five Golden Bears hit double-digits including a team-high 20 points from junior
Keondre' King. King drained six from beyond the arc while adding three rebounds and an assist.
Freshman
Will Hill and redshirt sophomore
Darrin Martin had 12 points each. Hill also had two rebounds and an assist while Martin finished with two boards and two assists.
Ashton Parker, a junior, posted 11 points, seven rebounds, four assists and a steal.
To round out the top scorers for the Gold and Blue, junior
Andrew Work recorded ten points to go with four rebounds, three assists and a block.
As a team Tech finished 27-for-64 (42.2 percent) from the floor while Ave Maria shot 31-for-49 (63.3 percent). The Golden Bears forced 11 turnovers while only committing eight themselves.
The team will return to River Stats Conference action Saturday, December 3 when they travel to University of Rio Grande.
