UPLAND, Indiana -- (RV) WVU Tech men's basketball earned a 60-57 victory at Taylor University Friday. The Golden Bears are now 1-1 while the Trojans move to 1-2 this season.
Tech was down 54-57 with 1:37 left to play but with the effort from junior
Ashton Parker, who hit a jumper at 1:10, junior
Andrew Work, who drained 2 points at 00:27, a steal by freshman
Will Hill at 00:03 and made free throws from freshman
Bryce Radford at 00:01, the Golden Bears ran away with the road win.
Work led the team with a double-double effort of 15 point and ten boards to go with one of each -- steal, block and assist.
Radford poured in 13 points for the Gold and Blue while producing six rebounds.
Parker and Hill finished with 11 points each and eight and seven boards respectively. Parker also stopped three Trojan attempts while Hill posted one block.
Freshman
Brant Smithers came off the bench to produce seven points and five rebounds in 28 minutes of play.
The Golden Bears will return to action Friday, November 11 when they face Campbellsville University to tip off the Cumberlands Classic.
