BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech men's basketball began its three-game home stand with a 90-73 non-conference victory over Carolina University Tuesday evening. The Golden Bears are now .500 this season at 6-6 while the Bruins move to 5-7.
Four Golden Bears hit double-digits including a career-high 22 points from freshman
Brant Smithers. Smithers finished 5-for-10 from three-point range while producing four rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Junior
Keondre' King drained six three's towards 18 points to go with four rebounds, four assists and a steal.
Bryce Radford, a redshirt sophomore, finished the night with 17 points, seven assists and two rebounds.
Junior
Andrew Work recorded a double-double of 16 points and ten assists. Work also had a steal and three rebounds.
Fellow junior
Ashton Parker posted seven rebounds and six points.
As a team, Tech pulled down 26 rebounds while the Bruins finished with 38. The Golden Bears shot 53.3 percent (32-for-60) from the floor while Carolina finished at 42.1 percent (24-for-57).
The Gold and Blue will next host Bluefield University this Thursday, December 15 at 7 p.m.
