TAKOMA PARK, Maryland -- WVU Tech men's basketball halted its four-game skid with an 81-74 non-conference victory at Washington Adventist University Wednesday evening. The Golden Bears move to 5-6 this season while the Shock hold a record of 8-4.
Junior
Andrew Work poured in a game-high 24 points on 8-for-10 shooting and a 7-for-9 showing from the bonus strip. Work also produced three rebounds, three assists and a steal.
From beyond the arc, junior
Keondre' King was a perfect 4-for-4 towards 16 points to go with three rebounds and two steals.
Fellow junior
Ashton Parker finished with 14 points on 4-for-4 shooting from the foul line. Parker also recorded three rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block.
Brant Smithers, a freshman, also hit double-digits for the Gold and Blue with 12 points including three three's. Smithers had two rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Under the boards freshman
Saliou Diop pulled down a team-best six boards to go with four points.
Tech will continue play next Tuesday, December 13 when they host Carolina University at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center.
