BECKLEY, West Virginia -- (RV) WVU Tech men's basketball picked up their tenth River States Conference (RSC) victory after defeating University of Rio Grande 70-56 Thursday evening. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 19-4, 10-2 (RSC) while the RedStorm move ot 12-13, 6-7 (RSC).
Thomas Hailey posted a career-high 21 points to lead Tech's offense as the team shot an efficient 60.9 percent (28-for-46) from the floor. Hailey also had a team-best eight boards to go with five assists, two steals and a block.
Keondre' King hit five from beyond the arc towards 15 points. Seven rebounds, three assists and two steals were also on the box score for King.
Andrew Work poured in 15 points along with his fellow Golden Bear, also pulling down four boards.
Ashton Parker came off the bench to mark eight points and five rebounds while
Gunner Short had seven points, three assists and two rebounds.
The Gold and Blue will continue conference play when they travel to Indiana University East Saturday (February 5).
