BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech softball blanked University of PIkeville 6-0 in game one before falling in the final contest 0-2. The Golden Bears move to 14-17 in 2022 while UPIKE holds a record of 11-21.
During the series
Macy Wilkens recorded three hits including a double towards a RBI.
Two hits each were posted by
Jacey Bertalan,
Mackenzie Siersma,
Courtney Miles and
Kelsey Huffman. Huffman finished with two RBI while Bertalan and Miles had one each. Siersma and Miles also knocked a double each.
In the circle,
Taylor Dickerson was awarded the W in game one after 7.0 innings, striking out 11 batters and allowing just two hits.
Emma Crisswell threw the complete game in the final contest, retiring nine batters via strike outs for the loss.
The Gold and Blue return to River States Conferene play Friday when they travel to Ohio Christian for two games.
