BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech softball is on a roll, winning its five last games including games against Ohio Christian University (1-7, 1-0), Carolina University (9-6, 4-1) and Indiana University Southeast (6-1, 4-0). The Golden Bears boost their record to 19-18 overall and 5-9 in River States Conference (RSC) play.
In the circle,
Courtney Miles finished 3-1, striking out 29 batters and finishing with an ERA of 2.07 after 27.0 innings.
Taylor Dickerson threw towards a record of 2-0 after 13.0 innings of work. Dickerson had an ERA of 1.08 and retired nine opponents via strikes.
Mackenzie Siersma recorded nine hits that included three doubles, a triple and a homer towards a team-high six RBI over six games.
Gabrielle Pyles knocked her first collegiate homerun while producing eight hits towards five RBI and three doubles.
Jacey Bertalan finished with six hits and a double while Miles posted five hits for the Gold and Blue. Miles also had two doubles and a RBI.
Nicole Self,
Brianna Stevenson and
Macy Wilkens marked four hits each. Wilkens had two doubles and three RBI while Self and Stevenson finished with two RBI apiece.
WVU Tech will be right back in action tomorrow, Tuesday when they host Brescia University for more RSC action at Fitzpatrick Park. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.
