MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -- WVU Tech volleyball traveled to Mount Vernon Nazarene University Saturday to face the host school and Thomas More University. The Golden Bears fell to Thomas More 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-15) before dropping a contest to Mount Vernon 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-12).
Leading the team, senior
Brooklyn Cook recorded 14 kills for the Gold and Blue.
Fellow senior Corlays Maldonado Rivera also hit double-digits in kills, posting ten. Maldonado Rivera also put down three blocks.
Senior
Valentina Abondano finished with eight kills and three blocks while freshman
Madison Boswell had seven kills and four blocks. Freshman
Emily Stack marked seven kills and two blocks.
The libero, sophomore
Brooke Presley led the back row defense over two matches with 21 digs.
Junior
Julia McClanahan and freshman
Ally Morris handled the ball dishing 21 and 17 assists respectively.
The team will return to the court Wednesday, September 14 when they travel to face Concord University.
