TAKOMA PARK, Maryland -- (RV) WVU Tech is now enjoying a three-game winning streak after defeating Washington Adventist University 3-1 Saturday evening. The Golden Bears boast a record of 5-1-1 while the Shock move to 0-4-1.
In goal, junior
Lucas Rivera Paramio had five saves in the complete game for the W. The Shock's keeper Shawn McGuire was forced to make nine stops while allowing three goals in 90 minutes.
Tech's first goal was posted by sophomore
Joan Hernandez who found the back of the net, unassisted, in minute 23.
Freshman Enrique Ezuerro Lopez recorded the Gold and Blue's second goal (35'). Ezuerro Lopez was assisted by senior
Ruben Martin Macias.
The final score for WVU Tech came from Martin Macias. The senior took the score to 3-0 in the 69th minute unassisted.
Washington Adventist put their goal in at minute 86 off of Henderson Rodriguez.
Tech held the edge in shots on goal 12-6 while Washington Adventist had three corner kicks compared to the Golden Bears' two.
The team will travel to Columbia International University Tuesday for their next match-up, scheduled to kickoff at 5 p.m.
