MIDWAY, Ky. -- WVU Tech volleyball has increased its winning streak to six after defeating Midway University 3-0 (25-10, 25-22, 25-17) Friday evening in River States Conference (RSC) action. The Golden Bears boost their record to 13-10, 9-2 (RSC) while the Eagles move to 8-9, 2-7 (RSC).
Senior
Ana Muniz Rocandio (Oviedo, Asturias, Spain) led the attack and back row defense with a double-double of 12 kills and 12 digs to go with three service aces and three assists.
The Golden Bears ran a 5-2 around setters freshman
Marianna Oyola Rivera (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) and senior
Julia McClanahan (Charleston, W.Va.) who produced 19 and 17 assists respectively. Rivera also had eight kills, five digs and a service ace while McClanahn tallied a kill and a dig.
Junior
Madison Boswell (Ronceverte, W.Va.) put down 11 kills and added two block assists. Fellow classmate
Brooke Presley (Shady Spring, W.Va.)Â picked up ten digs for the Gold and Blue.
The team will continue conference play tomorrow, Saturday when they travel to Indiana University Southeast for a 12 p.m. game time.
