BECKLEY, W.Va. -- WVU Tech volleyball has now won four straight River States Conference (RSC) matches after defeating Alice Lloyd College 3-0 (25-15, 25-11, 25-15) on Senior Night. The Golden Bears boost their record to 11-10, 7-2 (RSC) while the Eagles move to 2-16, 0-8 (RSC).
Tech celebrated seniors
Julia McClanahan (Charleston, W.Va.),
Ana Muniz Rocandio (Oviedo, Asturias, Spain) and
Roxana Vazquez (Coamo, Puerto Rico) before blanking Alice Lloyd.
Junior
Madison Boswell (Ronceverte, W.Va.) led tonight's attack with 12 kills while sophomore
Emily Stack (Beckley, W.Va) put down nine kills. Boswell and Stack also had three block solos each while Stack added two block assists.
Muniz Rocandio recorded eight kills to go with 21 digs. McClanahan dished out a match-high 34 assists and six digs while Vazquez also put out an assist.
Junior
Brooke Presley picked up nine digs and tallied two assists for the Gold and Blue.
The team looks to continue the streak when they travel to Indiana University Purdue University Colombus Saturday, October 7 for more conference action.
