PIPPAS PASSES, Ky. -- WVU Tech men's basketball netted an 87-79 River States Conference (RSC) victory at Alice Lloyd College Saturday afternoon. The Golden Bears move to 5-3, 1-1 (RSC) while the Eagles hold a record of 5-3, 0-2 (RSC).
Senior
Andrew Work (Oak Hill, W.Va.) and freshman
Braden Chapman (Beaver, W.Va.) both produced a double-double effort of 27 points and 11 rebounds. Work added five assists, two block and an assist while B. Chapman had two blocks and an assist.
Sophomore
Brant Smithers also hit double-digits for the Gold and Blue, pouring in 15 points including four from beyond the arc.Â
Freshman
Cole Chapman (Beaver, W.Va.) pulled down nine boards while senior
Ashton Parker (Rock Hill, S.C.) had seven. C. Chapman had five points and five assists while Parker had six points, four assists and two blocks.
As a team Tech finished 29-for-60 (48.3 percent) from the field while the Eagles were 30-for-65 (46.2 percent). The Golden Bears also held the edge under the boards, 45-26.
The team will be back in action Saturday, December 9 when they travel to Ohio Christian University for more conference play.
