SOUTH CHARLESTON, West Virginia -- WVU Tech softball fell to Frostburg State University 6-0 before rolling over Bluefield State 14-4 in five innings Sunday. The Golden Bears boast a record of 5-1 in 2023 while the Big Blues move to 3-12 and the Bobcats stand at 9-2.
Mackenzie Siersma started in the circle against Frostburg State, throwing for 4.0 innings towards four strike outs, two earned runs and the loss.Â
Gracey Dearmon drew the start and earned the W after pitching for 2.0 innings against Bluefield State. Dearmon struck out three, gave up three hits and had zero earned runs.
Emma Crisswell and
Courtney Miles pitched 3.0 innings and struck out three opponents each.
After two games
Macy Wilkens helped lead the way for the Gold and Blue finishing 4-for-5 at the plate with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored.
Nicole Kester finished with three hits, three runs scored and a RBI.
Kelsey Huffman recorded five RBI on two hits including a double.
Maggie Richards posted two RBI after a 1-for-3 effort at the plate.
The Golden Bears will next head to Viera, Florida for the Space Coast Games where they will face ten teams March 8-12.
