VIERA, Florida -- WVU Tech softball has played four of the ten games scheduled in Viera during the Space Coast Games March 8-12. The Golden Bears earned a 4-2 victory over Cleary University in game four after falling to Trinity Christian College (1-2), Roosevelt University (0-6) and Washington University (3-4).
The W in the circle versus Cleary was credited to
Courtney Miles who pitched a complete game towards six strike outs while giving up two runs and six hits. Miles has pitched a total of 16.2 innings in the first four contests, totaling 13 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.52.
Emma Crisswell struck out five in 5.1 innings of work while
Gracey Dearmon has 3.0 innings in the circle towards zero earned runs andÂ
Mackenzie Siersma has a strike out and a 0.00 ERA after 2.0 innings.
Nicole Kester tallied four hits over four games while
Makenzie Holley and
Macy Wilkens had three each. Kester finished with four runs scored, a double and a RBI. Holley had a RBI and Wilkens knocked three doubles.
Siersma drove in three runs total including two off a double in the seventh against Cleary that lifted Tech past their opponent by two runs.Â
Hailea Skeens posted two RBI off a double for the Gold and Blue.
Kester had two stolen bases while
Tori Wells and
McKayla Bartley grabbed one each.
The Golden Bears will continue play in Florida tomorrow, Friday when they face University of Saint Francis and University of Fort Lauderdale.
