PIPPAS PASSES, Ky. -- WVU Tech volleyball blanked Alice Lloyd College 3-0 (25-16, 25-13, 25-22) to open River States Conference (RSC) play in Pippas Passes Tuesday. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 5-8, 1-0 (RSC) while the Eagles move to 1-9, 0-1 (RSC).
The attack was led by senior
Ana Muniz Rocandio (Oviedo, Asturias, Spain) and junior
Madison Boswell (Ronceverte, W.Va.) who had 12 kills each.Â
Sophomore
Nevaeh Wooding had seven kills, two block solos and a dig while freshman
Marianna Oyola Rivera (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) put down seven kills and picked up seven digs.
Senior
Julia McClanahan (Charleston, W.Va.) recorded 43 assists to go with five digs. Sophomore
Peydon Smith (Beaver, W.Va.) finished with ten digs and four service aces.
WVU Tech will have its home opener this Friday, September 15 when they host RSC opponent Point Park University in Van Meter Gym at 7 p.m.
