OWENSBORO, Ky. -- WVU Tech men's soccer has now won four consecutive games after blanking River States Conference (RSC) opponent Brescia University 4-0 Saturday afternoon. The Golden Bears improve to 5-4-1, 3-0 (RSC) while the Bearcats move to 1-8, 1-2 (RSC).
Tech had four different goal scorers including the first from freshman
Vasco Berardo (Lisboa, Portugal) who was assisted by sophomore
Conrad Ryu Eriksson (Tokoyo, Japan).
Sophomore
Juan Minguez Malonda (Oliva, Valencia, Spain) moved the score to 2-0 off an assist from senior
Alejandro Moreno (Barcelona, Spain).
The third goal came from freshman
Tiago Moreira (Vila Nova de Famalicão, Braga, Portugal) who posted his first collegiate score, unassisted, in the 83rd minute.
Freshman
Lorenzo Grispello (Milano, Italy) marked the final goal of the game in minute 89, connecting with freshman
Morgan Arnold (Essex, England) who had the assist.
Tech's keeper, freshman
Ramon Ferrari (Nova Venécia, Espírito Santo, Brazil), made four saves in his second clean sheet W of 2023 after 90 minutes of play.
The teams were almost even in shots on goal with the Golden Bears on top, 5-4. Brescia produced five corner kicks compared to Tech's two.
WVU Tech will continue road play when they travel to Indiana University East Saturday, October 7 for more conference action.
