(RV) WVU Tech has won nine of last ten match-ups

Men's Basketball

KOKOMO, Ind. -- (RV) WVU Tech men's basketball has won nine of its last ten contests including an 85-77 River States Conference (RSC) victory at Indiana University Kokomo Saturday. The Golden Bears now boast a record of 13-4, 6-2 (RSC) while the Cougars move to 14-4, 4-4 (RSC).

As a team, Tech finished perfect from the bonus line at 18-for-18 and finished 30-for-54 (55.6 percent) from the floor. The Gold and Blue pulled down 32 boards compared to Kokomo's 28 rebounds. 

Sophomore Thomas Hailey (Monroe, N.C.) led all scorers with 24 points to go with seven rebounds and three assists.

Four other Golden Bears hit double-digits Saturday including freshman Liam Craven (Brantford, Ontario, Canada) who had 14 points and four rebounds.

Freshman Braden Chapman (Beaver, W.Va.) added 13 points and four rebounds while sophomore Brant Smithers (Williamstown, Ky.) and freshman Cameron Danser (Morgantown, W.Va.) had ten points each. 

Freshman Cole Chapman (Beaver, W.Va.) recorded eight points and three assists while senior Ashton Parker (Rock Hill, S.C.) had seven rebounds and six points.

Come cheer on the team this week at the Beckley Raleigh County Convention Center for two more conference contests starting Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. versus Midway University followed by a Saturday tipoff at 3:00 p.m. against Indiana University Southeast.
