BECKLEY, W.Va. -- WVU Tech men's basketball celebrated seniors
Ashton Parker (Rock Hill, S.C.),
Andrew Work (Oak Hill, W.Va.) and
Luke Vass (Fayetteville, W.Va.) Saturday after earning a 92-61 River States Conference (RSC) win against Alice Lloyd in front of a Homecoming crowd at the Beckley Raleigh County Convention Center. The Golden Bears now boast a record of 16-6, 9-4 (RSC) while the Eagles move to 11-13, 3-11 (RSC).
Six Golden Bears hit double-digits and Parker finished with a double-double effort of 17 rebounds and 12 points. Freshman
Braden Chapman (Beaver, W.Va.) poured in 23 points including seven made three's and one assist short of a double-double with nine.
Work recorded 14 points, five boards, five assists and a steal while sophomore
Thomas Hailey (Monroe, N.C.), freshman
Cameron Danser (Morgantown, W.Va.) and freshman
Liam Craven (Brantford, Ontario, Canada) had 12, 12 and 10 points respectively.Â
Tech finished 57.6 percent (34-for-59) from the floor while holding Alice Lloyd to 34.4 percent (21-for-61) shooting Saturday. The Golden Bears also dominated under the boards, 42-29.
WVU Tech will continue play at home when they host Ohio Christian University this Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. for more conference action.
