EVANSVILLE, Ind. — WVU Tech women's soccer remained unbeaten in River States Conference play Saturday afternoon, earning a hard-fought 1–1 draw against Oakland City University at the Goebel Complex.
The Golden Bears are now 7-2-3 overall and 4-0-1 in conference action, while the Mighty Oaks move to 8-2-2 and 4-0-1. The result keeps Tech unbeaten on the road this season at 5-0-2 and maintains a share of first place in the RSC standings.
Senior Nora Martin-Mora Segura opened the scoring in the 13th minute with her fifth goal of the season to give Tech the early advantage. But Oakland City equalized in the 89th minute when Jana Mueller converted from the penalty spot.
Senior goalkeeper Sandra Garcia Quílez anchored the Golden Bears with five saves in the draw, while Martina Latapi Gomez struck the crossbar twice to lead the attacking chances. WVU Tech finished with a 9–11 shots deficit but kept the edge early, including five shots on goal.
