GAINESVILLE, Fla. – WVU Tech's Samuel Whitcomb competed in the 3,000 meter Race Walk during the NAIA National Championship February 27 in Gainesville. The Golden Bear traveled to Florida with head coach Jordan Hosey to be the lone representative for the Gold and Blue in the 2025 Indoor Track & Field championship.
Whitcomb, a junior from Waynesboro, Va., raced in a field of 21 competitors, crossing after a time of 16:29.01 and finishing 20th overall in his second national appearance. He improved his time from last season's championship appearance by 1:03.04.
The Golden Bears and Whitcomb will be back in action for the outdoor season beginning March 21-22 with the Stan Romanoski Open in Morgantown, W.Va.
