WVU Tech track & field competed in three meets this weekend

WVU Tech track & field had Golden Bears competing in the Concord Invite, Asheville Bulldog Invitational and Southside Power and Fitness Invitational Thursday-Sunday.

LOCATION 
Concord Invite | Athens, W.Va.
Asheville Bulldog Invitational | Asheville, N.C.
Southiside Power and Fitness Invitational | Hickory, N.C.

NOTES:
  • The men finished fourth and the women, Abby Holley, were seventh at the Concord Invite.
  • Holley finished seventh in the hammer throw at 17.41m.
  • Owen Keeney posted a new PR and took first in the high jump with a 1.96m showing.
  • Sam Miller finished second in the hammer throw at 33.80m.
  • Four PRs were earned at the Asheville Bulldog Invitational -- Christian Saffouri (1500m, 4:42.85), Samuel Whitcomb (1500m, 4:43.25), Adam Bennett (1500m, 4:48.51) and Evan McElwayne (5000m, 15:50.46).
  • At the Southside Power and Fitness Invitational Alec Howard surpassed his own school record in the decathlon.
NEXT UP
The Golden Bears will travel to Buckhannon, W.Va. for the West Virginia Wesleyan meet scheduled for April 18-19.
