RIO GRANDE, Ohio -- WVU Tech track & field competed in the River States Conference (RSC) Championship Friday and Saturday.

NOTES:
- The men finished seventh and the women were eighth after two days of competition.
- McKayla Bartley surpassed her own school record in the hammer throw with a 35.93m showing.
- Owen Keeney had a podium finish in the high jump, posting a 1.90m mark for third place.
- Evan McElwayne grabbed the program record in the 10,000m run with a time of 32:38.91.
- Simon Merhout earned points for Tech in the javelin throw, finishing sixth at 40.29m.
- Corbyn Cunningham had a 2.60m (8th) mark in the pole vault to earn a point for the Golden Bears.
- The 4x800 relay team of Frazer Glen, Fabrizio Balarezo, Samuel Pyle and Adam Bennett crossed seventh (8:46.03).
- Peyton Asbury was sixth in the 3,000m steeplechase with a 17:35.27.
- Samuel Whitcomb earned three points for Tech with a sixth place finish in the 5,000m racewalk at 28:21.52.
- The 4x100 relay team of Sophie Quinlan, Kelsey Huffman, Martina Latapi Gomez and Lexie Wikel earned three team points and earned a team point in the 4x400m relay.
- Merhout, Sam Miller, Nicholas Vincent and Luke Reynolds picked up points for seventh place in the 4x100 relay.
- Glen, Whitcomb and Merhout earned eighth place in the 4x400m relay with just three runners.

The Golden Bears will travel to Morgantown, W.Va. for the West Virginia University Last Chance Meet scheduled for May 3.
