WEST PALM BEACH, Florida -- WVU Tech volleyball battled through a tough opening weekend, gaining valuable experience across four matches during The Palm Beach Juniors Classic hosted by Keiser University.
The Golden Bears opened the 2025 season with four matches in Florida, showing resilience and steady improvement each time out.
- Offensive Leaders: Ivana Burgos and Addison White each tallied 19 kills, while Giulia Colombo added 19 kills on a .175 hitting percentage.
- Setting the Tone: Anaís González directed the attack with 61 assists over the weekend.
- Defensive Standouts: Peydon Smith anchored the back row with 47 digs (4.27 per set). Hailey Ervin added 24 digs, while Burgos chipped in 45 digs.
- At the net: Nevaeh Wooding totaled five blocks, with Colombo adding seven block assists.
- From the service line: Tech tallied 11 aces, led by Smith (4), Burgos, White and Ervin.
- The Golden Bears averaged nearly 18 digs per set, showcasing hustle and defensive toughness across all four contests.
