BECKLEY, W.Va. – WVU Tech League of Legends closed out its 2025-26 season Thursday night, competing on the national stage in the NECC Division 6 Nationals Quarterfinal against No. 1 Murray State Gold.
The Golden Bears earned a spot among the final eight teams in Division 6, facing the tournament's top seed in a best-of-three series.

The Golden Bears battled across both maps against one of the top programs in the nation, facing a disciplined Murray State squad that controlled key moments to secure the series.
Despite the result, WVU Tech continued to compete with the structure and identity that carried it throughout the season, working to find opportunities in teamfights and contest objectives against the top-ranked team in Division 6.
Tech's run to nationals was highlighted by key wins over strong competition, including a victory over Loyola University Maryland and multiple 2-0 sweeps during the spring season. The Golden Bears consistently demonstrated their ability to execute in coordinated, best-of-three play while competing with nationally recognized programs.
Facing the No. 1 overall seed, WVU Tech embraced the challenge and represented the program on the national stage, capping a season defined by growth, consistency and competitive performances.
