GLENVILLE, W.Va. — WVU Tech volleyball continued to build throughout Tuesday night's road match at Glenville State University, battling through a tightly contested third set before Glenville State earned a 3-0 decision at the Waco Center.
The Golden Bears (0-12) fell 25-11, 25-19, 25-22, with Tech becoming increasingly competitive as the match progressed. The second set featured seven ties and three lead changes before the Golden Bears pushed Glenville State even further in the third, which included 15 ties and eight lead changes before the final three-point margin.
Aniston Treadway led the Golden Bear attack with 10 kills on 33 swings while committing just one attack error for a .273 hitting percentage. She also added eight digs and finished with a team-high 10 points.
Addison White turned in another all-around performance with 16 assists and a team-high 13 digs. White also contributed a solo block and a block assist.
Lucia Orcajo made the most of her two sets of action, putting down four kills on 10 attempts with one error to hit .300. Freshman Maura O'Niell added five kills, while Emerson Young converted one of three swings for a kill in her lone set.
Defensively, Ivana Burgos finished with six digs, five assists and a service ace, while Hailey Ervin added five digs and an ace. Ashlinn Sullivan also recorded a service ace for the Golden Bears.
At the net, Eden Miller recorded a solo block and a block assist, while White also contributed one of each. Tech finished the match with 22 kills, 22 assists, three service aces, 39 digs and three total blocks.
WVU Tech's offense was especially effective in the second set, when the Golden Bears recorded 10 kills on 35 attacks and hit .143. Tech followed with eight kills and a .108 hitting percentage in the tightly contested third.

WVU Tech continues its road swing Friday, Sept. 11, at Indiana University Kokomo. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Kokomo, Ind.
The Golden Bears then visit Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12.
