Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for February 10-16, 2025 were announced Wednesday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Junior Samuel Whitcomb (men's track & field) and senior William Gray (baseball) highlight the week's honors.

Whitcomb, a native of Waynesboro, Va., punched his ticket to the NAIA National Championship after a fourth place finish in the 3,000 meter racewalk with a PR of 15:32.43 during the River States Conference Championship.

Gray, who hails from Rockwell, N.C., finished 4-for-6 at the plate towards a .667 batting average over two games. The senior knocked a homerun and a double towards two RBI to help Tech earn two victories.
