Sophomore Kendra Monnin has been named a Golden Bear Star Performer of the Week for February 10-16, 2016.

Monnin was named the Appalachian Swimming Conference (ASC) Female Athlete of the Year by the participating teams' coaches for winning three individual events including two new school records for WVU Tech.

Monnin won the 200 Breaststroke (2:22.18) and the 200 IM (2:08.24) for the new records while touching first in the 100 Breaststroke (1:05.79) to help lead the team to a sixth place finish in the championship.

The Golden Bears broke four relay records with the team of Monnin, junior Francine Meyer and freshmen Mariana Loureiro and Isabela Kiesewetter Zandavalli. The team touched second in the 400 Medley Relay (4:01.27) and 800 Free Relay (7:54.01) while finishing third in the 400 Free (3:38.48) and the 200 Medley Relay (1:50.37).

Majoring in chemical engineering at WVU Tech, Monnin is the daughter of Mark and Lisa Monnin and hails from Knoxville, Tennessee.
