Freshman Sawyer Hawgood has been named a Golden Bear Athlete of the Week for August 29 - September 5, 2017.

Hawgood was named to the Marietta River City Classic All-Tournament Team after helping Tech to a 3-1 tournament showing. The Kamloops, B.C., Canada native picked up 70 digs to go with nine service aces for the Gold and Blue.

Hawgood also had 11 digs over three sets in the win over Appalachian Bible College Tuesday.
