MONTGOMERY, West Virginia - The Golden Bears will be traveling this weekend for a total of six athletic events. Men's basketball starts the action off Friday in Boston, Massachusetts at the Fisher College Classic while women's basketball, wrestling and men's and women's swimming will also be competing for victories over the next two days.

- Leading the way for the Golden Bears included freshmen TJ Bean (125) and Curtis Cox (133) and junior Dirk Ponchak (165).
- The champions all went undefeated on the day, 3-0.
- Also finishing in the top four for Tech were Alfred Martinez (141), Conrad Lacey (157), Wyatt Norfolk (285) and Terry Nance (197).
- Martinez and Lacey finished the tournament 3-1 for third place finishes while Norfolk went 4-1 to end third.
- Nance grabbed fourth place with a tournament record of 2-2.

LAST COMPETITION Â
- WVU Tech men's swim team defeated the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan University 142-43.
- Tech women fell 115-52 vs. the Bobcats.
- Winning the 200 Freestyle for the women was Monnin, clocking a time of 2:03.36, winning the event by almost seven full seconds.
- Cooper took top honors in the men's 50 Freestyle with a 22.35 and finishing third was Lucas Malvar in a time of 23.80.
- Meyer won the women's 200 IM, she clocked a 2:21.26 to top her nearest competitor by four seconds.
- Winning the 200 IM for the men was Manuel Serrano Laguna (2:00.80).
- Finishing second in the 200 Fly was Wiercioch (2:46.83).
- Winning the men's 200 Fly was Gauneau (1:58.99) and second was Arevalo (2:01.75).
- The men's event was won by Ballesteros (49.67) and picking up second was G. Grauwde (51.73).
- The men's 500 also featured a first and second place finish. Montarroyos claimed first with a 4:58.43 followed closely by Cooper who swam a 5:00.75.
- Top honors in the women's and men's 200 Breaststroke went to Monnin (2:36.47) and Laguna (2:14.97).
- Cavanagh placed second in a 2:17.48.
