MONTGOMERY, West Virginia - The winter season is back in full swing this weekend for WVU Tech athletics, featuring a home women's basketball game against University of the Cumberlands (Kentucky) Saturday at the Baisi Athletic Center. Men's basketball will play their third game since the break while wrestling and swimming will travel for their first match-ups in a few weeks.

SATURDAY - JANUARY 10
Wrestling at Washington and Lee Invitational - 10:00 a.m.The Golden Bears finished 2014 with a record of 8-4 and are looking to continue with their winning season as they head to Lexington, Virginia for the Washington and Lee Invitational. Tech will face opponents from Bridgewater College, Ferrum College, Gettysburg College, Liberty University, University of Scranton, Southern Virginia University, St. Andrews University and host school Washington and Lee University.
Last season, the Gold and Blue finished second out of 11 teams at the Invite including three tournament champions who have returned this season,
Alfred Martinez,
Dirk Ponchak and
Tola Morakinyo.
Swimming at West Virginia Wesleyan University - 1:00 p.m.After over a month off from competition, swimming will travel to West Virginia Wesleyan University for pool action Saturday. Men's swimming is undefeated this season in direct competition, 5-0 while the women's team hopes to grab their first victory this season.
The women's squad opens 2015 ranked No. 10 in the 2014-15 NAIA Women's Swimming and Diving Coaches' Poll and the men were voted into sixth in the nation.
Women's Basketball vs. University of the Cumberlands - 2:00 p.m. Tech will host Cumberlands of Kentucky Saturday in the Baisi Athletic Center, looking to snap a seven-game losing streak. The Golden Bears are 5-9 this season while the Patriots are 13-4, winning their last three games.
The Golden Bears currently hold two top-ten rankings in NAIA DI including third in offensive rebounds per game (18.071) and tenth for assists per game (16.857).
Men's Basketball at Salem International University - 3:00 p.m. The Gold and Blue had a strong showing in 2014 (12-3) and are on to their third game in 2015, splitting the first two games to give them an overall record of 13-4. Tech defeated Shawnee State University (75-62) in a back-and-forth battle that included ten score changes and four tied scores.
Senior Leon Cooper Jr. netted a game-high 24 points, including a 4-of-7 showing from three-point range, grabbing five rebounds and recording four assists to lead for Tech.
